The countdown of the 20 Fan Favorite Bel Ami scenes of all time continues……
16- Luke Hamill and Kevin Elola (Graffiti, 2006)
Like Mating Season and Lemonade, Graffiti was just as fun and sexy as it’s counterparts from Bel Ami’s middle period. What makes Graffiti a stand-out is it’s premise….obviously! Taking place in one location, primarily, each sex scene of the film begins with the guys painting or otherwise,‘tagging’ a blank wall in an abandoned building or at times each other or themselves, proving that you really don’t need a wall or paper on which to create a work of art- your partner can serve very well as your blank canvas and in quite genius form that is the underling message of this film. Of course that will heavily depend if you are really looking for any sort of message at all, or if you’re like me the message is incidental to all the fun and very much as it should be (but as proof of my own duality, discovering little subtle things within films are what I love and sharing my discoveries with all of you is what ‘gets me off’). This film certainly appealed to the artist in me, as I have nicknamed the guys featured in this film Bel Ami’s Picassoes. They seemed to be having a good time and so was I watching them, and in this scene, the boys decided to paint themselves and even one other….so too do the lads featured in this week’s entry into our countdown. Luke and Kevin playfully paint their naked bodies and even help one another in their ‘creations’, then afterwards explaining their bit of artwork to the cameraman. This very neatly segues into their sex scene, in which dear Kevin finds in Luke his very own personal Jesus. All of us should be so lucky!
