The search for one’s soul mate has been the theme more or less of every romantic story in existence. In terms of hardcore, that may be a bit of a stretch but when you watch these scenes, you can’t help but interject a little romance into them. Being a writer I must confess that even I tend to get carried away by the little details and that helps create many imaginative scenarios in my head. Like this one…… originally a two part scene released on BelAmiOnline, I trimmed it down to under 4 and half passionate minutes and with Jim and Dario, it was easy for this romance writer to come up with a great story seed. Of course, the music I chose certainly helped fuel the energy here, if it happened to lack any, which it didn’t.
Back to the concept of soul mates….what are they? A soul mate doesn’t necessarily have to be someone you are in love with though that’s been an often misconception. Your soul mate is that other part of you, that helps complete who you are as a human being. Your soul mate becomes so much a part of your existence, he or she becomes like your oxygen you need to breath. You may not understand fully how this person came into your life, but you accept it completely and without question. You can have many lovers within your life time but you can only have one soul mate, and it’s that one person or other soul your own simply can’t do without. I enjoy the idea here of the ‘completed hunt’ between Jim and Dario. In the beginning they enjoy exploring the landscape of their temporary home in South Africa and all seems fairly innocent at first: two friends sharing their time together. Only soon to return to their rented villa to explore more intimate landscapes- each other. The lyrics of the Icon of Coil song, The Other Half of Me tell the story a little better than I do perhaps. I’ve swapped back and forth on who’s soul is claiming who. In the end, I think it’s fair to say that they’ve claimed each other.
