[box type=”shadow”]8- Matt Phillipe and Brandon Manilow (Pina Colada, 2006)
I’ve been holding onto this one for months! And now I finally get to surrender it to you all. Why the long wait? The edit of this fun, sexy and passionate romp between Matt Phillipe and Brandon Manilow was sitting on my hard drive in a sorry state of incompleteness. I was waiting for just the right music piece to come to me, as usual. It took an afternoon of intense listening to different music for an idea to come to me. Some time last year, I downloaded a collection of free music on Amazon and a bunch of mp3’s from Brazil made the list. Seeing as most of these were on a ‘no-name’ label and more than likely mislabeled, I figured I had to figure out who the artists were before I could even use the new music I discovered. I found a possible music piece that I felt would fit this scene well, as well as the overall favor of the film itself, and I used one of my music tagging programs to figure out the proper title of the song and the artist. The title of the song came to be the roughly translated title of this post. Serendipity yet again played a very lovely role in the creative process. The song worked like a beautiful love poem to set the scene.
The premise of this scene is a sweet one. Brandon and Mark Aubrey are preparing for their trip down to Brazil on vacation (has a familiar ring to it…. remember Greek Holiday?) Brandon leaves to go and join Matt Phillipe on a photo shoot; a report obvious develops between the two of them. After the cameras and rest of the crew leave and it’s just the two of them, and they engage in a little love play that unleashes all their penned up desires stored during the shoot. It’s a wonderful scene and well deserving of being amongst the fan favorite Bel Ami scenes of all time.[/box]
